Job Description

The Site Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of mechanical systems on construction sites. This role involves hands-on technical oversight, effective coordination with project teams, and ensuring that all installations comply with design specifications, acceptance criteria, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background in mechanical engineering combined with excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a proactive approach to on-site challenges.

Job Qualifications

Required Education:

-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
-A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management is a plus.


Required Experience & Certificates:

-Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in site supervision and mechanical installations within the construction or engineering consultancy industry.
-Experience in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems.
-Familiarity with french codes and standards is a must.
-Certification in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems or PMP (Project Management Professional) is an advantage.
-Experience in coordinating with contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues on-site.


Required Skills:

-Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
-Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Project.
-Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
-Strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders. -Ability to manage site activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
-Strong report writing and documentation skills.
-Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, French and Arabic is required.


Tasks and Duties:
-Supervise and coordinate the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
-Ensure that all installations conform to approved design documents, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
-Conduct regular site inspections and quality control audits to identify and rectify any deviations or deficiencies.
-Collaborate closely with project managers, design engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless communication and project alignment.
-Organize and lead regular site meetings to review progress, address technical issues, and adjust plans as needed.
-Prepare detailed progress reports, highlighting achievements, potential risks, and recommended corrective actions.
-Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting during the installation and commissioning phases.
-Utilize analytical skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
-Implement value engineering practices to optimize mechanical solutions and improve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
-Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
-Maintain comprehensive documentation for all on-site activities, including inspection reports, testing records, and safety audits.
-Prepare issues log, discuss recommendations and resolution with project managers and stakeholders.
-Enforce established acceptance criteria for mechanical installations, ensuring consistency and quality across projects.
-Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on-site, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
-Provide technical guidance and training to enhance team competency and ensure adherence to industry best practices.
-Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures, implementing innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency.
-Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continually update technical knowledge and improve on-site practices.
