Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. You will ensure value for money while maintaining the required standards and quality. This is a leadership role that requires precision, negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of construction processes and contracts.

Job Qualifications

Required Education:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
-Master’s Degree or relevant post-graduate qualification in a related field (Preferred).


Required Experience & Certificates:

-Minimum 8+ years of proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably within a project management or contracting environment.
-Experience with large-scale projects is a strong advantage.
-PMP or equivalent project management certification – desirable.


Required Skills:

-Strong knowledge of cost planning, estimating, value engineering, and risk management.
-Expert in BOQ preparation, contract administration, and variation claims management.
-Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, Primavera, MS Project, and cost estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar).
-Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
-Ability to manage and mentor junior QS staff.
-Strong report writing and documentation abilities.
-Fluent in English (spoken and written); French is a must.


Tasks and Duties:

-Prepare and review cost estimates and budgets for projects.
-Assist with tender preparation, evaluation, and recommendation processes.
-Analyze contractor quotations and support value engineering initiatives.
-Manage and track project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and variances are analyzed.
-Assess and certify monthly payment applications submitted by contractors and subcontractors.
-Monitor and review change orders, variations, and claims.
-Prepare financial progress reports and forecasts.
-Review and administer contracts in line with company policies and project requirements.
-Liaise with project stakeholders to resolve contractual issues.
-Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to support project goals.
-Mentor and guide junior QS team members.
-Maintain clear records and documentation for internal and client reporting.
-Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements across projects.
-Contribute to company procedures for cost control, procurement, and commercial best practices.
