Job Description
Role Overview
The Senior Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s core IT ecosystem. This includes physical hardware, virtualized environments, cloud platforms, and networking stacks. You will ensure 99.9% availability of services while leading automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and improve scalability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure Design & Administration
- Design and manage high-availability server environments (Windows/Linux) using VMware.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure (Azure), focusing on cost optimization and resource scaling.
- Maintain and optimize storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and backup/disaster recovery protocols (Veeam, Azure Site Recovery).
2. Network & Security Operations
- Manage enterprise networking equipment, including firewalls (FortiGate), switches (VLAN tagging), and SD-WAN configurations.
- Implement and monitor security protocols, including MFA, VPNs, and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems.
3. Automation & Efficiency
- Develop PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks in Active Directory, Office 365, and server provisioning.
4. Asset & Lifecycle Management
- Supervise the lifecycle of all IT assets (from procurement to disposal) within tools like ManageEngine Asset Manager.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network topologies, hardware inventories, and SOPs.
5. Leadership & Mentorship
- Act as the Tier 2 escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Mentor junior system administrators and provide technical guidance on internal projects.
Job Qualifications
Technical Requirements
- Operating Systems: Expert knowledge of Windows Server 2022+ and Linux.
- Cloud: Proven experience managing Azure (Entra ID, Intune) environments.
- Networking: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, and VoIP systems.
- Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere.
- Tools: Proficiency in ITSM/Asset Management tools (e.g., ManageEngine, Jira Service Management)
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA/CCNP).
- Fortinet NSE (Level 4 or higher).
- Experience: 7+ years in IT infrastructure, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
Soft Skills
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to diagnose complex infrastructure failures.
- Project Management: Experience leading infrastructure migrations or office build-outs and clear documentations.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical roadmaps to non-technical stakeholders.
